How you can be in prime-time news with ‘heavy’ topics – INAQ CONSULTING

Services offered: strategic communication, PR, media promotion

CONTEXT

In Romania, concern for the quality of production processes and products is a recent and not yet widespread concern. Companies that are aware of the importance of international certifications (several hundred) have already started to enjoy the benefits of obtaining these real “export passports”. But information is very difficult to disseminate. Including the very niche subjects, which are harder for the general public to understand.

This was the case at the IFS Food Conference, a highly technical meeting organized by IFS Management (Germany) and INAQ Consulting (Romania), attended by quality certification specialists and their clients.

EIGHT STEPS TO SUCCESSFUL COMMUNICATION

Step 1
Thoroughly document the subject.
The team members went through dozens of papers, brochures, presentations, website pages, or videos of other certification conferences. The documentation included several meetings and discussions with the client. In the end, we identified the best press topics.

Step 2
Drafting an editorial plan, based on the client’s proposed communication strategy.

Step 3
Establishing the list of journalists invited to the event, based on the structure of readers, viewers, listeners, and the target audience agreed with the client.

Step 4
Media training with the “face” of the event – Mr. Ionuț Nache, INAQ General Manager. An extremely important step.

Step 5
Writing and distribution of the press release and follow-up.

Step 6
Media management of the event.

Step 7
Post-event monitoring and media analysis.

Step 8
Presenting conclusions and recommendations, based on observations made during the collaboration and the media appearances report.

RESULTS

The project “IFS Conference 2017” generated at least 19 media appearances on TV, radio, news agencies, business, and general press, the value of these media appearances being 30.300 euro (rate card).

The press release was also picked up on the websites of Digi24, PrimaTV, and TVR and press aggregators such as Rodailynews, Newslist, Exclusiv24.net, etc.

EVALUATION OF MEDIA APPEARANCES

Articles and TV reports had a positive tone towards IFS certifications. The general note of the media appearances was informative with an emphasis on presenting the advantages of certification, both for the consumer and for the entrepreneurs whose products thus acquire a “passport for export”.

The general layout of the media appearances (especially in the print media) followed the structure of the press release.

The TV channels inserted extensive statements by Ionuț Nache, INAQ General Director, and representatives of IFS-certified companies.

The strategic communication proposed by the Tudor Communications team also included relevant media appearances before the event (an editorial signed by Ionuț Nache in a prestigious economic publication, respectively the presence of the INAQ general director on the online TV of another important economic publication).
